Research Fellow Vicki Alger, author of Failure: The Federal Misedukation of America’s Children appears on The Joe Pags radio show in San Antonio, TX and discusses the themes of her new book. The US Department of Education has failed students and parents since it was created in 1979. After spending billions of dollars on bureaucratic red tape, test scores for students have remained relatively flat. Instead of federal bureaucrats making decisions that effect students, Alger says local teachers, parents and administrators are much better suited for making individual schools work better for their communities.

Separating politics from the economy, Murphy says businesses in Great Britain are still able to conduct business on the European continent, but they don't have to share the same socialist political beliefs of the EU leadership.
