Hamilton the musical celebrates the immigrant identity of Hamilton the man, but it overlooks his unsavory views about nationality and birth status. The historical Alexander Hamilton committed several turns against the same liberal immigration beliefs that composer-librettist Lin-Manuel Miranda intended his stage character to illustrate.
