Peter G. Klein is a Research Fellow, Associate Editor of The Independent Review, and Member of the Board of Advisors of the Center on Culture and Civil Society at the Independent Institute; and Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Professor Klein received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

He is a member of the editorial boards for the journals, Managerial and Decision Economics, Journal of Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing, International Journal of Strategic Change Management, Journal of Libertarian Studies, and Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics.

Professor Klein is the recipient of the Frank T. and Harriet Kurzweg Award for Outstanding Scholarship on Personal Liberty, Private Property, and Individual Responsibility; Distinguished Paper Award from the Academy of Management; Charles B. Knapp Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Instruction from the University of Georgia; G. P. Swift Award for Outstanding Teaching in Undergraduate Economics from the University of Georgia; and the TIAA-CREF Outstanding Paper Award from the Eastern Finance Association.

He is a contributor to numerous volumes, and his books include The Theory of the Firm: Emergence, Challenges, and New Directions (with Nicolai J. Foss), The Elgar Companion to Transaction Cost Economics (with Michael E. Sykuta); Entrepreneurship and the Firm: Austrian Perspectives on Economic Organization (with Nicolai J. Foss); and The Fortunes of Liberalism: Essays on Austrian Economics and the Ideal of Freedom, vol. 4 of The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek.
