Conveniently located near the Oakland Airport, the Independent Institute is an award-winning, academic, non-partisan, public policy research and educational organization. We publish books and a quarterly journal, produce forums about issues in the news, and increasingly offer our materials in digital and visual media.
The Marketing and Sales Director is responsible for developing and implementing all marketing and social media plans and campaigns, with two goals in mind: widening and deepening the audience for Independents ideas and products (marketing) and then actually increasing the number of products sold or ideas disseminated to those audiences (sales).
The Managing Editor, operating under the direction of the Senior Director of Publications, is responsible for publications production at Independent, including overseeing the work of designers, copyeditors, and proofreaders, and indexers involved in the publishing of books, eBooks, audio books, journals, newsletters, white papers, and other items distributed by the Institute.
