Commitment, Scholarship, and Classical Liberalism

Abstract

Taking Nobel laureate Friedrich A. Hayek as a model, classical liberal scholarship can be advanced on three fronts—the theoretical, the empirical, and the ethical. But unless Hayek’s heirs deal with the concerns of others, classical liberalism runs the risk of becoming consigned to intellectual irrelevance.
