Robert A. Lawson

Robert A. Lawson is the Jerome M. Fullinwider Endowed Centennial Chair in Economic Freedom at Southern Methodist University and Director of the O’Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom in the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Florida State University, he is past President of the Association of Private Enterprise Education, and he has taught at Auburn University, Capital University, and Shawnee State University.

He is the author with James Gwartney of the annual volumes for Economic Freedom of the World, and his scholarly articles have appeared in the Journal of Private Enterprise, The Independent Review, Journal of Lutheran Ethics, Journal of Economic Education, Perspectives in Economic Education Research, Atlantic Economic Journal, Economics Bulletin, Kyklos, Journal of Economics and Finance Education, Social Philosophy and Policy, Journal of Labor Research, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, Cato Journal, Asian Economic Review, Journal of Public Finance, and Public Choice.
