Steven G. Horwitz

Steven G. Horwitz (1964-2021) was Distinguished Professor of Free Enterprise and the Director of the Institute for the Study of Political Economy at Ball State University. Formerly Charles A. Dana Professor of Economics at St. Lawrence University, he was Senior Scholar at the Mercatus Center and Senior Fellow of the Fraser Institute, Dr. Horwitz completed his Ph.D. in economics at George Mason University.

His books include Hayek’s Modern Family: Classical Liberalism and the Evolution of Social Institutions, Microfoundations and Macroeconomics: An Austrian Perspective, Advances in Austrian Economics, and Monetary Evolution, Free Banking, and Economic Order.
