A new generation of critical theorists seeks to poke holes in the history of economic theory and liberal political economy and to demonstrate inherent flaws of the capitalist system. Instead of abandoning the disciplines of history and intellectual history, economists must face this challenge or else risk the triumph of economic fallacies and false promises that impede human freedom and well-being.
