William F. Marina (1936–2009) was a Research Fellow at The Independent Institute and Professor Emeritus of History at Florida Atlantic University. He received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Denver, and he taught at the University of Texas at Arlington, Northern Arizona University, the Universidad Francisco Marroquin, and Schmidt College. He served as Founding Co-Director the Florida-Israel Linkage Institute; Senior Economist at the U.S. Joint Economic Committee; Senior Resident Scholar at Liberty Fund; President of the International Foundation for Gifted Children; and Director of the Florida Atlantic University Press, Director of the Small Business Development Center, Director International Studies, and Director of Interdisciplinary Studies at Florida Atlantic University. He passed away July 7, 2009.
