Linda Royster Beito

Linda Royster Beito is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Professor of Social Sciences and Dean of Arts and Science at Stillman College, where she has received several awards for excellence in teaching and was inducted into the Zeta Phi Beta Hall of Fame. She received her M.S. in criminal justice and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Alabama, and she has been Assistant Professor of Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of South Alabama.

Professor Beito is the co-author of the new Independent Institute book, T.R.M. Howard: Doctor, Entrepreneur, and Civil Rights Pioneer (with David T. Beito), and she is the author of the book, Leadership Effectiveness in Community Policing.

Her many popular articles have appeared in such publications as Real Clear History, Washington Examiner, AME Church Review, History News Network, The Hill, and Washington Times, and she has appeared on numerous TV and radio programs across the country. Her scholarly articles have been published in the Social Science History, Journal of Firearms and Public Policy, The Independent Review, Nevada Historical Society Quarterly, and International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice..
