By Robert A. Baker
This article appeared in the Winter 2003 issue of The Independent Review

Abstract

Since the publication of his first scholarly article in 1947, iconoclastic psychiatrist Thomas Szasz has authored a steady stream of publications defending human freedom and individual liberty. History will remember him kindly for his unwavering battle against the psychiatric error, pseudoscience, and medical tyranny that, in the name of the therapeutic state, continue to wreak irreparable and unforgivable harm.
