Bully U: Central Planning and Higher Education

Abstract

Many European universities have become captive to a managerial mindset that cares little for academic niceties and often acts high-handedly toward the professoriate. The author’s personal experience sheds light on why a survey of bullying in U.K. academia considers Queens University Belfast one of the least hospitable institutions for teachers.
