I spent some time on Martin Luther King Day thinking about that question. Why do women on the average earn less than men? Why do blacks on the average earn less than whites? Does discrimination explain those differences? Or what about the so-called widening inequality of income and wealth in our society? Could that be caused by discrimination?
My answer: yes and no.
