Posted: Thu. December 7, 2017, 11:36am PT

Research Fellow Robert Whaples, editor of Pope Francis and the Caring Society discusses how capitalism and private property can achieve some of the Pope's goals of charity and protecting the environment. The Pope says every action we take is a moral action which includes acts of consumption and acts of production. Creating rather than redistributing wealth can lift others out of poverty is one of the main points in the book, according to Whaples.
