Sr. Fellow Stephen Halbrook, author of Gun Control in Nazi-Occupied France appears on the Conservative Commandos radio show. Halbrook talks about the recent March for Our Lives by students in support of more gun control after a Florida school shooting. He says demonstrators should protest the FBI and the Broward County Sheriff's Department for their failures to protect students. Schools and citizens need to be prepared and use force against force in order to prepare to defend themselves against criminals, says Halbrook.

Sr. Fellow Ivan Eland, author of Eleven Presidents appears on CNBC to talk about the recent trip to China by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Eland says this is a major message to the world that China is now on friendly terms with North Korea. China is sending a message that the strategic relationship between the two neighbors is important. Eland says this may be an answer to Trump's strong stance against North Korea testing nuclear weapons and the recent appointment of John Bolton as National Security Advisor.

Florida​ recently​ passed a scholarship program called Hope Scholarship Program, to offer scholarships to children who have been bullied at school. Parents can take action immediately to keep their children safe by transferring them to another school, where the student feels safe. The program is completely financed privately. If schools begin to lose students, they will have an incentive to improve safety at the school.

More than governments, markets can help the less fortunate through the action of individuals. Over the last few decades, more than a billion people worldwide have been moved above the absolute poverty line, mostly through capitalism, property rights and by worldwide trading, says Whaples. The Pope doesn't see this because of his "blind spots" in regards to capitalism.
