Mark V. Pauly

Mark V. Pauly is Bendheim Professor; Professor of Health Care Management; and Professor of Business and Public Policy, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia., and he is the recipient of the 2012 William B. Graham Prize for Health Services Research.

A former commissioner on the Physician Payment Review Commission, Professor Pauly has served on the advisory committee to the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, and on the Medicare Technical Advisory Panel. He currently serves on the national advisory committees for the National Institute of Health National Center for Research Resources, National Academy of Sciences' Committee to Study the Veterinary Workforce, and NAS Committee on the Biomedical Workforce. Professor Pauly is a co-editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Health Care Finance and Economics and associate editor of the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty.

Professor Pauly is the author of many articles in scholarly journals as well as the book, Health Reform Without Side Effects: Making Markets Work for Individual Health Insurance.
