Brian C. Gothberg

Brian C. Gothberg was a Fellow at the Independent Institute and is an Instructor in American history and the history of Western civilization at the Academy of Art University. He received his degree in economics from California State University at Hayward and has taught at Santa Clara University, Nanyang Technological University and Golden Gate University.

Mr. Gothberg has been Principal Economic Analyst for the Industry-University Cooperative Research Program at the University of California Office of the President, Research Analyst at California State University at Hayward, Program Assistant at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, and contributing author to the book, The Technology of Property Rights. With an additional background in software engineering, Mr. Gothberg has also been a database analyst for Lawrence Hall of Science, Huntsman Associates, Bechtel Group, Chevron Corporation, Kaiser Permanente, SoftShell Systems, and Wells Fargo Bank.

A very popular and engaging lecturer, Mr. Gothberg has been the Seminar Leader for the Independent Institute's Summer Seminars for Students since 2003.
