Chandran Kukathas

Chandran Kukathas is Chair in Political Theory in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and he was formerly Neal A. Maxwell Professor of Political Theory, Public Policy and Public Service at the University of Utah. He completed his B.A. in history and political science at the Australian National University and his M.A. in politics at the University of New South Wales before going on to a D.Phil. in politics at Oxford University. Professor Kukathas has taught at the University of New South Wales, Oxford University, Australian National University and held professorial or visiting positions at George Mason University; Royal Military College, Canberra; University of New South Wales; and Australian Defence Force Academy.

He is the author of the books, The Liberal Archipelago: A Theory of Diversity and Freedom, Rawls: A Theory of Justice and Its Critics (with Philip Pettit), and Hayek and Modern Liberalism.
